CITY CALENDAR

 

The Frontenac City Council meets on the first and third Monday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at Town Hall.

 

The Frontenac Municipal Court holds court on the first and third Wednesday of every month at 4:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

 

The Frontenac Public Rec. board meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 4:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

 

The Frontenac Planning & Zoning Board meets on the second Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at Town Hall

The regular meeting of the Frontenac City Council, February 4th, 2008 was called to order at 6:00 PM by Mayor Kennedy.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all and roll call was answered by Southard, Kotzman, Bridwell, Macary, Quenoy, Restivo and Grilz.  Pyle was absent.

Minutes of January 21st, 2008 were opened for discussion.  A motion was made by Grilz and seconded by Bridwell to approve.  The motion was unanimously approved.

Appropriation Ordinance #1472 was opened for discussion.  Quenoy made a motion to approve appropriation ordinance #1472, this motion was seconded by Grilz and unanimously approved.

Citizens Comments:  Tracy Mapes – 606 N. Linn was present and requested that the Council approve placing  stop signs on Linn Street at Creager Street .  Mapes cited excessive speed along Linn Street and heavy traffic to and from the trailer court as justifications for the signs.  Chief Flora advised that the intersection would probably not meet the criteria for a stop sign under the uniform traffic code manual.  City Attorney Brunetti advised the Council that the City would not be more liable for placing stop signs at the intersection.  After further discussion, a motion was made by Restivo and seconded by Grilz to place stop signs on Linn Street at Creager.  This motion was unanimously approved.

City Attorneys Report:  Jennifer requested that the Council go into executive session for five minutes to discuss attorney-client privilege and to include the City attorney and city clerk.

A motion was made by Quenoy, seconded by Grilz to go into executive session for five minutes to include the city attorney and city clerk to discuss attorney-client privilege.  This motion was unanimously approved.

Council went into executive session at 6:17 PM

Council returned to regular session at 6:21 PM with no action taken except to return to regular session.

A motion was made by Grilz to adjust the impact fee on the Radley sewer project from the original contract amount to $20,000.00.  This motion was seconded by Macary and unanimously approved.

A motion was made by Grilz, seconded by Quenoy to go into executive session for ten minutes to discuss non-elected personnel to include the city attorney.  This motion was unanimously approved.

Council went into executive session at 6:24 PM

Council returned to regular session at 6:34 PM with no action taken except to return to regular session.

A motion was made by Grilz to adjust the contract of the City Administrator as follows:

·        Monthly vehicle allocation raised to $600.00

·        Extend the current contract to 2011

·        Increase from 2% to 5% for successful grant proceeds.

·        Allow up to 100 hours of comp time to be sold back to the City.

This motion was seconded by Restivo and unanimously approved.

With no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Quenoy, seconded by Kotzman and unanimously approved.
