The Governor has issued an executive order requiring masks when social distancing is not possible. The Crawford County Commission has decided not to opt out of the mandate, however, the order will not be enforced by local law enforcement. We still ask that the public adhere to the recommendation and wear a mask when possible. When attending to the public, including at public meetings, city staff will be wearing masks.

The City of Frontenac continues to be operational and open for service during this health emergency. Several changes have been made at the direction of the State of Kansas and through CDC and Kansas Department of Health and Environment guidelines. Facilities which are open to the public will be most impacted this summer. If you have any questions, please call us at (620) 231-9210 during regular business hours Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. A link is also provided at the top of our page to send messages directly to City Staff.

  • City Hall lobby remains closed but the drive-thru is open. Staff can take payments by phone, drive-thru or in our drop box.
  • The police and fire services are open for emergency services but will be taking precautions to protect our emergency staff and those we serve.
  • The City Council has decided to close the pool for the summer. CDC guidelines for disinfecting and cleaning make it difficult for staff to maintain a safe environment, promote social distancing, and follow recommended cleaning of all surfaces after each use.
  • The Senior Center is currently closed.
  • Parks will be open starting May 22nd but restrooms will not.
  • Ballfields will be open to practices starting May 22nd.
  • Municipal Court is open with restrictions.
  • The Rec Center remains closed.
