The regular meeting of the Frontenac City Council, January 2nd, 2012 at Town Hall was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Kennedy.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all.  Roll call was answered by Papish, Kotzman, Bridwell, Macary, Quenoy, Hipfl, Chiappetti and Menghini.

Minutes of December 19th, 2011 were opened for discussion.    A motion was made by Papish and seconded by Chiappetti to approve the minutes.  This motion was unanimously approved.

Appropriation ordinance #1566 was opened for discussion.   Chiappetti questioned why there were two checks for rent on the John Deere building---rent was not paid in November and the mistake was corrected in December.  A motion to approve appropriation ordinance #1566 was made by Quenoy, seconded Macary and unanimously approved.

Mayor Kennedy thanked those who attended the Christmas Lunch.

Council Members Comments:  Bridwell questioned when we would turn off the Christmas lights and what the cost in electricity was.  The lights will be turned off on Thursday and the electricity cost is minimal since the lights were all changed to LED bulbs.  Kotzman asked if there was anything that the City could do to entice Jakes Fireworks to locate in Frontenac as they are looking to relocate.  Dan advised that he had spoken with them on several occasions but current building codes at the state and national level due to their business make it less attractive to build a new building than renovate an existing structure.  We will continue speaking with them.

City Administrator: Dan presented Council with the year-end financial report which indicates we stayed about 10% under budget over all for 2011.

With no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Quenoy, seconded by Kotzman and unanimously approved.
