The regular meeting of the Frontenac City Council, May 3rd, 2010 at Town Hall was called to order at 6:00 PM by Mayor Kennedy. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all and roll call was answered by Papish, Kotzman, Macary, Quenoy, Restivo and Menghini.

Chiappetti and Bridwell were absent.

Minutes of April 19th, 2010 were opened for discussion. A motion was made by Papish and seconded by Restivo to approve the minutes. This motion was unanimously approved.

Appropriation Ordinance #1526 was opened for discussion. Councilman Papish inquired on warrant #9163038. This was an ACH transfer to Purple Wave Inc. for the purchase of a used dump truck. Purple Wave Inc. is an auction site. Menghini questioned what “glyphosate” was as purchased from Producers Cooperative. This is weed killer for the lagoons. A motion to approve appropriation ordinance #1526 was made by Quenoy, seconded by Macary and unanimously approved.

Council Member Comments: Councilman Restivo made a motion to recognize Betty Papish/Kunshek for forty years of service to the Frontenac School and set aside May 24th, 2010 as “Betty Day” in appreciation of her service to the community and education system. This motion was seconded by the entire Council present and thus, unanimously approved. Mayor Kennedy will prepare and present a proclamation to that effect.

City Administrators Report: Dan reported that the asphalt bids had come in at a good price. The committee will review the bids and present a recommendation to Council on the 17th. FEMA has requested a maintenance schedule for our streets prior to determination on whether they would reimburse for the storm damage. Additionally we are waiting on the City of Pittsburg on the joint costs for one of the streets. 

City Clerk’s Report: Resolution 2010-02 for allowing consumption of alcohol on the street for homecoming was presented to Council. A motion was made by Macary, seconded by Menghini to approve Resolution 2010-02. This motion was unanimously approved.

Resolution 2010-03 was also presented to Council, allowing for the closure of certain streets to accommodate homecoming. A motion was made by Quenoy, seconded by Papish and unanimously approved to pass Resoulution 2010-03.

With no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Quenoy seconded by Kotzman and unanimously approved.
